Promoting Equity, Access, and Data Use
Edstar Analytics’ president, Lee Stiff, has been promoting equity in education for decades. When he served as President of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) from 2000 to 2002, he promoted access to high quality mathematics and teaching for understanding. (See excerpts from a 2001 CSPAN-2 debate below.) He also promotes using data for promoting equity and closing achievement gaps in mathematics (See his What You Know For Sure video below.) He makes mathematics culturally relevant for all, and goes above and beyond to make it entertaining while historically accurate. (See an excerpt from his History of Mathematics, The Musical below.)
